Services and Clinics We Provide
New Patient Registration
If you wish to register with the surgery you will be asked to:
  • complete a registration form;
  • attend a new patient health check with either a HCA or practice nurse.
If you expect to be living in the area for up to 3 months you can register as a temporary resident.
Disabled access
There is wheelchair access to the surgery as well as ground floor consulting rooms.
Repeat prescriptions

Repeat prescriptions should be requested either by using the computer counterfoil and clearly marking the drugs required, or by using our online service, The Waiting Room.

Please allow 48 hours before collection, prescriptions may also be sent directly to a pharmacy.

Test and X-ray Results
Please ring or call into the surgery after 11:00 for results. Note: Results can only be given to the patient concerned, unless he/she is a child under 16.
Clinics
In addition to our routine surgeries/general medical services we offer a number of clinics including (listed alphabetically):
  • antenatal, post natal and baby checks;
  • anticoagulation point of care testing; immediate result and dosing (ie. Warfarin);
  • cervical smears;
  • child immunisation;
  • chronic disease review:
    asthma, COPD, coronary heart disease, diabetes, epilepsy, heart failure, hypertension, kidney disease, mental health, peripheral arterial disease, stroke and tia;
  • family planning including coils, emergency contraception and nexplanon;
  • stop smoking advice;
  • surgery: minor surgery by Dr Twomey and Dr Vyvyan, plus other surgery eg. vasectomies by visiting surgeons in our new surgical unit;
  • travel advice & vaccinations;
  • well person check:
    weight, height, blood pressure, lifestyle advice etc. can be arranged early or late in the day.
Non-NHS services
  • medicals eg insurance companies, HGV & PSV licenses etc;
  • claims for private health insurance & holiday cancellation;
  • private sickness certificates;
  • fitness for employment, travel, sporting activities;
  • some travel vaccinations.
The above are examples of services which are not part of a GP's statutory duties and for this type of work either you or the requesting organisation will be charged a fee.
